Ivory Katan Banarasi with All-Over Gold Jaal

The jaal — a net of interlocking floral motifs — is the most iconic Banarasi pattern, and in ivory katan silk with real gold zari it reaches its fullest expression. Woven on a handloom in Varanasi's Peeli Kothi weaving neighbourhood, this saree takes 18 days to complete. The pallu carries a dense Mughal garden scene in gold and silver.
